Pilates has been around for over 80 years and has a following the World over. Pilates is a functional exercise class that teaches us to notice how we move our bodies. We look at, for example, how we stand, sit and move. I teach matwork classes which are the most popular type and work well in a group setting.

We use small equipment such as small, spiky balls for muscle release, (lovely to roll under the feet) small squishy balls for balance and resistance bands and sometimes light handweights for a little more challenge

As an experienced Body Control® Pilates Teacher I can tailor moves to suit the individual. Back problems and muscle stiffness can be greatly improved with regular practice. Never worry that you won’t keep up or will feel silly, I will adapt the moves and always work at a level appropriate to the people in front of me.

Your body awareness is improved by bringing together mind and body - Body Control® Pilates literally teaches you to be in control of your body, allowing you to handle stress more effectively and achieve relaxation more easily.

In short, it is a class suitable for everyone. No special clothing or shoes required - bonus! (just bring a mat).
